The elephant is gone But Allison's still in the room You'd think she would've forgotten what's so fun Her mother called But Allison's not in the mood You think she would have lost it long ago She's a strange one Lives too close to the sun And she always takes the stairs Giraffe is wrong and sticks it's head in everything Puts it's (our) neck out Crossing all the lines But Allison is on She's always up for anything Leave a note She'll get back to you sometime She's a strange one Lives too close to the sun And she always takes the stairs She's a live wire. Burning hot for much too long The elevator just isn't there She's going up up up up up up She's on the stairs Pigs think they're pure They squeak and gawk Roll in manure Only care about their next meal Allison is sure She jumps and howls and begs for more Everyone is asking, "Is she for real?" She's a strange one Lives too close to the sun And she always takes the stairs She's a live wire Burning hot for much too long The elevator just isn't there She's a strange one Lives too close to the sun And she always takes the stairs She's a live wire. Burning hot for much too long The elevator just isn't there It's going up up up up up up up up up up up up up She's on the stairs

Serious 04:28
The fan blades they spit dust on the floor. The thin shades don't block the light anymore. I don't know what I'm doing here. I don't know where to begin. There's a cool breeze running up from the lake. There's a shadow creeping up on me. I don't know what she thinks she hears. Can she see from where she stands? But it's time now to be serious. Don't you go running from my hand. You know now that I'm serious. It can't be the same thing twice again. Morning light must have hit me from the other side. After last night there is no place to hide. I don't know what I'm doing here. I don't know where to begin. I don't know what she thinks she hears. Can she see from where she stands? But it's time now to be serious. Don't you go running from my hand. You know now that I'm serious. It can't be the same thing twice again. So strange I'm trying. Another page cause the old me is gone. So strange I'm trying. Would you like to come along? But it's time now to be serious. Don't you go running from my hand. You know now that I'm serious. It can't be the same thing twice again. It's time now to be serious. Don't you go running from my hand. You know now that I'm serious. It can't be the same thing twice again.

about

A long time ago, when the internet was merely a baby, a dear friend of mine Rani introduced me to her friend, Jim Creeggan.

Jim, as you may know, is the bassist in the Barenaked Ladies. I can't recall how this all happened, but I was able to open for Jim's OTHER band, The Brother's Creeggan, for their show in DC. At some point after that, I made sure my passport was current and booked my flight to Toronto - all to record a song *or two* with Jim in his friend's studio.

While I was there I hung out with this other guy quite a bit... Ron Sexsmith. Crazy life. What an experience. How I wish I had kept a journal.

about

Dan Haas Annapolis, Maryland

I have been writing songs since the 90's and have released some albums, EP's, and singles over the years.

My primary instrument is guitar, so many songs have an acoustic quality. I'm a fan of lush harmonies, big strings, & dreamy synths. I hope you find something appealing. Thank you for visiting and listening.
